Don't Be Late!
Reading the AKC Secretary's Pages is a little like reading the crime report in your local paper. Here are a few items from the most recent issue.
- The event is over, the birds and equipment are put away. But as the Secretary, you and your Club can't relax yet. The AKC does fine clubs (and the amount can be substantial) for late submission of results. In fact, the current AKC Secretary's Pages report no less than five clubs received notice of fines.
- Individuals were also fined for reasons of poor sportsmanship, not controlling a dog, and improper treatment. These fines can range from $100 to $10,000 including a lifetime ban from AKC events.
