This breeding combines some fantastic US field lines with a strong UK field pedigree. I am expecting it to produce pups with great bird drive, high biddability, great marking and scenting abilities, good water attitude, and wonderful temperaments. They should also have a good “off switch.”
These puppies will be great hunting companions, performance prospects, or active family dogs. There may be a therapy or service dog candidate but I won’t know for sure until temperament testing. I have a few reservations still available.
Reggie traveled to the USA as a pup from Lanlwyd Goldens in the UK. I was able to meet him last fall when I picked up Cara. He has a lovely personality: friendly, confident, and loves people. Reggie is well proportioned and has beautiful conformation. He’s very biddable and loves to work. In the field, he loves to flush pheasants. He has a good nose. Reggie is a strong swimmer and loves the water.
His puppies are doing well in a variety of uses: obedience, agility, hunt tests, and office dogs.
Reggie has an impressive UK pedigree behind him. Chance, his sire, has won multiple field trial champion awards. His breeder says, “A very sensible dog of excellent character and temperament, fantastic marking dog, good on runners, handles and follows instructions well. Results speak for themselves…”
Reggie’s dam: “Flo is a compact, intelligent, driven girl with strong hunting ability, who has been my constant companion since the day she arrived. A fabulous family dog, she’s been everywhere with us. She’s a real ‘give anything a go’ type of girl and at almost 10 years old has hardly slowed down.”-A Williams (Lanlwyd)
Rosie has a strong field pedigree and there are working service dogs in her maternal line. She is very easy to train and retains what she knows well. She’s an excellent marker and loves to find pheasants. She is the first dog I have trained in field work so we have both been learning as we go. Sometimes I feel like I’m holding her back because of my lack of knowledge, but a friend I train with has encouraged me to keep working at it. The kids are good help with running ducks around ponds to help throw and we are having fun! She is fast and very agile.
In the house, Rosie has a wonderful off switch. She is very good around my kids.
The COI on this breeding is 0.56% which gives us much needed genetic diversity.
