Mark Atwater has done it again. For the fourth time one of his photos is on the cover of the current issue of the Ducks Unlimited magazine. And to top it off, the photo is of his dog Yeti, only the second golden to grace a DU cover in more than 40 years. (His dog Titan was the other.)

Effective August 10, 2024, the CDC is implementing a process to standardize imports that will require that all dogs being imported into the U.S. must be 6 months of age, irrespective of where they are coming from or what purpose.

And dogs must meet these requirements:

1. Be healthy upon arrival
2. Be at least 6 months of age
3. Have an ISO-compatible microchip (implanted prior to any required rabies vaccinations)
4. Have a CDC Dog Import Form receipt.
5. Have additional documents depending on where the dog has been in the last 6 months and whether or not hte dog was vaccinated in the United States.
6. Additional requirements will be needed for dogs imported from countries designated as high risk.
